PhD, researcher, HOGENT University of Applied Science and Arts (FTILab+)
Simona Vasile has a background in textile engineering, specialization spinning and weaving and she was granted a PhD dealing with processing of nonwoven sound insulation based on mechanically reclaimed synthetics fibers.
In 2015 she joined FTILab+ and her current research topics deal with relationship between materials and thermal physiological, sensorial comfort and clothing fit. Moreover she has been engaged in projects dealing with hemp processing for textiles applications.
She was involved in several national and EU-funded research projects and has expertise with national and EU grants proposal writing. She has more than 20 years’ experience in research covering various textile engineering topics and is author of +40 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
