CEO Charlotte’s Web
Deanie Elsner is an accomplished global business leader and Board Director with a track record
of transforming both established and start-up businesses back to revenue and profit growth.
Over her 30-year career in business, Elsner has worked with some of the biggest companies in
the Consumer Product Goods space including Procter & Gamble, Johnson and Johnson, Kraft
Foods and Kellogg’s. Deanie has held an array of positions across sales, marketing and
general management with total P&L responsibility of $3-4 billion. As the first Chief Marketing
Officer at Kraft Foods, Elsner was one of the first leaders in CPG to build market-leading
technologies and capabilities to drive meaningful relationships between brands and consumers.
As the President of the Kellogg’s Snack Division, Elsner was the architect of a $385 million
business model transformation that included a reset of the sales, marketing and supply chain
which resulted in significant revenue and profit expansion while increasing market share. .
Deanie is currently the CEO of Charlotte’s Web, the leading CBD Company in the world. In this new role, Elsner is responsible for building a $1 billion company in the global botanical wellness space. At Charlotte’s Web, Deanie has overseen several initiatives to drive consumer trust through science, innovation and quality. Company milestones under her leadership include the opening of CW Labs in Buffalo, NY to support dozens of ongoing scientific studies, earning several U.S. hemp strain patents, opening a new production facility and R & D Lab in Louisville, CO, the acquisition of Abacus Health Products and becoming a Certified B Corporation.
Deanie was selected as one of ADWEEK’s 12 Stars of Ad Tech Building the Future as well as Forbes Top 50 Most Influential Chief Marketing Officers in the World. Deanie sits on the Board of Directors at Owens Corning and AgTech start-up Benson Hill.
